Good Faith Estimate

What is the "No Surprises" Act?

Beginning January 1, 2022, federal laws regulating client care have been updated to include the "No Surprises" Act. This Act requires healthcare practitioners to provide current and potential clients a "Good Faith Estimate" (GFE) on the cost of treatment.

Your Good Faith Estimate (GFE) Explained

This new regulation is designed to provide transparency to patients regarding their expected medical expenses and to protect them from surprises when they receive their medical bills. It allows patients to understand how much their health care will cost before they receive services.

Several factors make it challenging to estimate how long it will take for a client to complete therapeutic treatment, and much depends on the individual client and their goals in seeking therapy. Some clients are satisfied with reducing symptoms; others continue longer because it feels beneficial. Others begin to schedule less frequently and may continue to come in for "tune-ups" or when issues arise. Ultimately, as the client, it is your decision when to stop therapy.

When we first meet for our 30-minute phone chat, I will verbally provide you with a Good Faith Estimate (GFE). In addition, this estimate will be available to you in writing, and you can access it through the Simple Practice portal. If you are a current client, I will also provide you with a GFE.

Example Session Fees for A 12-Month Outlook

  • Individual Sessions: $190 for a 60-minute session.

  • Annual Estimate for Weekly Visits: Approximately $9,500 (50 weeks).

  • Annual Estimate for Bi-Weekly Visits: Approximately $4,750 (25 weeks).

I have provided my current session fees, which are projected for 12 months with differing sessions scheduled.

Please Note:

  • These figures are examples to help gauge potential costs.

  • The actual frequency and duration of sessions will align with your specific needs and therapy objectives.
